Elder James H. Goins, Sr.

Elder James Harold Goins, Sr., is a dynamic minister and anointed man of God, who has been given the charge to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. Accepting the call into the preaching ministry in 1997, he has been toiling to do his part in the upbuilding of the Kingdom of God. By the unction of the Lord, Elder Goins founded the Abundant Life Church in 2000, with a vision to lead a fellowship of believers who have a passion for God and a desire for the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. He is truly purpose-driven and vision-minded, as he strives to win souls to Christ and encourage others to live holy unto the Lord.

Prior to his pastorship of Abundant Life, Pastor James grew in his faith and knowledge of God as he served as a Sunday School teacher through the ministries of Divine Temple COGIC of Greeneville, Greater Love COGIC of Johnson City, and Potter’s House of Morristown. It was during his service at Potter’s House, under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Span, when he answered the call into the preaching ministry. He also has participated in a pastorship at the Bewley’s Chapel Church in Russellville.

Pastor James is a 1981 graduate of Morristown West High. He has earned his A.A.S. degree in Industrial Technology with concentration in Drafting and Design and his B.S. degree in Business Administration. Prior to the Lord blessing him with full-time pastorship in 2007, he worked for Lear Industries for 21 years.

He is the son of the late Robert Goins and Neverda Goins Crum. He is the sixth of nine children of his parents’ union. He is blessed with a lovely wife, First Lady Tammy, and two sons: James Harold, Jr., and Stephen Michael.
